India made a great attempt to chase down a 241-run target,
but they were bowled out for 208. The Indian squad suffered a setback when
Rohit Sharma went out at 64 off 44 balls since the other hitters did not put up
a strong showing.
Washington Sundar was outstanding earlier in the game, going
3 for 30, and he was a major factor in keeping Sri Lanka to 240 for 9. With
three wickets, Sundar was the most productive bowler for India; Kuldeep Yadav
chipped in with two wickets (2 for 33). The top scorers for Sri Lanka were
Kamindu Mendis and Avishka Fernando, who both added 40, runs to the team's total.
